Fortesta

Fortesta

Fortesta is a clear medicated, prescription gel that was made to deliver additional testosterone straight into the body and it’s getting a ton of attention.

It’s even turning individuals from the popular Androgel (another prescription testosterone gel). However, prescription treatments can’t always be relied upon for safe treatment because they are notorious for their unwanted side effects, so it might be difficult to decide if Fortesta is worth the trouble.

I did a little research on Fortesta to try to answer that question.

How Does Fortesta Work?

Fortesta delivers testosterone through skin. By applying testosterone topically, you allow more testosterone to flow throughout your body and improve energy, body composition, and sex drive.

These results were demonstrated in a study of 149 men. At the study’s completion, 3 out of 4 men who used Fortesta achieved normal testosterone levels [1].

How Do You Use Fortesta?

Using Fortesta is simple. Use the metered pump to measure out the precise dose recommended by your doctor. Prime the pump by pushing down about 8 times over a sink.

When you’re ready, apply the gel on the front or inner area of each thigh. Then, rub the gel evenly using one finger.

Wash your hands immediately after application with soap and water, and then let the gel dry before getting dressed.

Be sure not to swim, shower, or bathe within two hours of using Fortesta. Similarly, if you expect another person to have skin-to-skin contact with your thighs, wash them thoroughly first.

Note: Never apply Fortesta on your stomach, shoulders, upper arms or genitalia.

Are There Fortesta Side Effects?

As with any prescription treatment, Fortesta comes with its share of side effects. However, according to the Fortesta study, only 3% of patients had to stop using the product because of side effects.

The most common side effects were skin reactions where Fortesta was applied. These were mild to moderate, however, and usually disappeared within hours.

Rare side effects could include:

• Increased risk of prostate cancer
• A lower sperm count
• Swelling of the ankles and feet
• Increased red blood cell count
• Sleep apnea
• Blood clots in the legs

What Do Users Think of Fortesta?

Fortesta holds a 2.85-star rating in terms of effectiveness on WebMd.com, and a 2.77-star satisfaction rating, out of five stars.

Here’s a look at what a few users had to say about Fortesta.

“It took like forever(it seems to me) for to take effect. But, the effects are great great. It just takes a while for the gel to dry even after rubbing it in vigorously.”

“daily application of fortesta for ED issues. Marginal results at best. Application can be messy.”

“Easy to use. I feel positive effects after only two months. Some minor skin irritation but I’m controlling it by rotating the application sites & using OTC cortisone cream for the irritation.”

“IT took over 6 months to see any results of the usage then my levels went from 107 to 523 in another 30 day I was tested again and my levels were at over 1,700 the Doctor reduced my dosage and will test me again in two months.”

From these reviews, it’s easy to conclude that while Fortesta is effective, results may take a while to appear and may be weaker than you’d expect. There are also a few mild side effects to worry about with Fortesta.

How Can You Get a Fortesta Prescription?

If you’re interested in Fortesta, talk to your doctor. He or she will likely test your blood before prescribing Fortesta and then recommend a certain dosage.

You’ll want to tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including non-prescription medicines like vitamins and herbal supplements. This is because using Fortesta with other medications can affect the effectiveness of both.

Should You Ask Your Doctor About Fortesta?

If a prescription testosterone booster is what you’re in the market for, and you have time to wait for results, Fortesta may be your answer.

Depending on affordability under your insurance plan, Fortesta may be a good deal. But check out less expensive testosterone supplements first if you haven’t already.

Derek G Says:

I had symptoms of man O PAUSE, Hot flashes several times a day, they were severe and embarrassing. Other symptoms included no sex drive and a very serious issue with motivation and concentration along with everything else in my life. I am only 37 years old and due to a severe spinal injury the medications were making my testosterone levels very low. With my doctors help he prescribed FORTESTA gel and I do have to say that it does work very well and quick for me. I could feel positive results within 3 days and now after two months, I feel like it has been one of the best choices me and my doctor have ever made. I find that after showering that I will apply the gel to my thighs and then I check my email giving the gel time to dry the I dress and NO MESS!! No smell, and the gel works FOR SURE!!!!Feel like ten years younger again!

I used androgel, and applied to my chest area, now I use fortesta and it says not to apply to my chest area. Why is that.

Paul, different products are designed to be absorbed differently. The skin is thicker in some places than others which may inhibit or promote absorption. Always apply as recommended on the label or by a doctor.

I was taking the patch but stopped due to irritation. Been on Fortesta for two wks no sign of any difference in me but hate the drying time 30-40 drying time.

Bill Says:

I was using Androgel for several years when my prescription plan switched me to Fortesta because of a cheaper price. Fortesta takes much longer to dry and causes my skin to itch and break out in small red bumps. After reading the side effects I found that 16% of users have skin reactions. This is a high rate compared to Androgel. Fortesta tells you to apply to upper inner thigh but not to get it on the penis. How is this possible? I now have black hairs growing on the shaft of my penis where hair shouldn’t be growing. Beware!
