BIP A-HD Powder

Promising to give you “rock-hard shredded muscle”, BPI’s A-HD Powder claims it’s a testosterone powder like no other.

But can you really take the manufacturer’s word for it? I took a closer look into A-HD Powder to see where it really stood compared to other testosterone boosters.

A-HD’s Ingredients

To help boost athletic performance and raise testosterone production, A-HD provides nine ingredients in one 250 milligram proprietary blend.

Safflower is a natural ingredient that treats cardiovascular diseases and so could promote vascularity.[1] However, there is no clinical evidence that it has any effect on testosterone production or fat burn.[2]

Flaxseed is rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body turns into omega-3 fatty acid. It is believed that high levels of omega-3 fatty acids promote higher levels of testosterone. However, the only clinical study that supports this involved just one woman with imbalanced sex hormones.[3]

Blepharis is traditionally used in India to treat male sexual dysfunction. Modern studies support this use and have found it raises testosterone levels in male mice.[4]

Ginger root was found to increase testosterone production in rats.[5] It also has thermogenic qualities and speeds fat burn.

Turmeric is a traditional spice that has been shown to improve digestion and boost fat burn.[6]

Indian kino tree was shown in clinical research to lower blood sugar levels.[7] It’s unclear whether lower blood sugar levels positively affects athletic performance, however.[8]

Artichoke is used to treat heartburn, anemia, and high cholesterol.[9] There are no studies showing it has any effect on testosterone levels.

Yohimbe bark is used by many bodybuilders to enhance performance and burn fat. Clinical studies have found the ingredient can improve stamina and treat impotence.[10]

However, there is no clinical research showing that yohimbe bark actually boosts testosterone in men.

Propolis is a honey bee secretion that raises testosterone levels in animals.[11]

Some ingredients appear to positively affect performance and testosterone rates while some appear to do nothing at all. Also, many of the clinical studies done on ingredients were limited to rats and other animals. Actual clinical research on how these ingredients affect humans is lacking.

User Reviews

While we may have qualms with ingredient quality in A-HD, it currently enjoys very positive user reviews. Currently, out of 132 user reviews on BodyBuilding.com, A-HD Power has a high score of 9.2 out of 10. Here is a sample of what recent A–HD Powder users on the product have shared:

SD1959 states that A-HD Powder is an “excellent product. Steady changes in body composition and added a bit of strength even as I was getting leaner!”

Tsw007 shares that A-HD is a “great Test booster. Took it for a month and have noticed my strength go up and pack on some size. Really liked the results and recommend this to friends.”

DubDiesel disagrees and admits “disappointed. . . I’m a fan of a few BPI products but not this one. I noticed an increase in sex drive but nothing as far as strength gains or any over-all good feelings.”

While A-HD Powder doesn’t appear to work for all people, an overwhelming majority of users were happy with the results it brought.

How Do You Use It?

Take one scoop daily in the morning with 8 ounces of cold water or beverage of choice.

A-HD Powder should also be taken on a full stomach, so you’ll have to wait until after breakfast.

Are There Possible Side Effects?

Many of A-HD Powder’s ingredients cause mild side effects such as bloating, gas, abdominal pain, as well as diarrhea and nausea.
But yohimbe bark is a cause for special cause for concern. The ingredient has been known to cause skin flushing, dizziness, and panic attacks. In doses of 100 mg or more, yohimbe is linked to heart attack, stroke, and even death. The ingredient is so potentially dangerous it has been banned from certain countries.

How Much Does A-HD Powder Cost?

One 112 gram tub of A-HD Powder can be purchased directly from BPI for $56.99 plus $9.99 for shipping and handling.
Online vendors offer better deals on the product:

• NutraHealthSupply via Amazon.com: $21.80 plus $7.99 shipping for one 112 gram tub
• A1Supplements.com: $30.95 plus $5.95 shipping for one tub
• BodyBuilding.com: $29.99 plus $5.93 shipping for one tub

Is A-HD Powder Backed by a Guarantee?

A-HD Powder is backed by a guarantee from BPI. However, the product must be purchased directly from BPI, be unopened, and be returned within 30 days of purchase.[12]

Final Thoughts

While some aspects of A-HD are tempting, I hesitate to recommend it. Many ingredients are not proven and can even cause potentially fatal side effects. Also, BPI’s guarantee for A-HD Powder is rather limited.

Even though A-HD has gotten great feedback from users, it is not the only testosterone booster to do so. Instead of jumping for A-HD, look for a product that uses clinically proven ingredients, and has positive user reviews.
